The Stramski Center Cleft Lip and Palate program at Miller Children’s Hospital has a professional team of doctors and other specialty team members, who have donated their time for over 25 years. They provide on-going care for youngsters with cleft lips and palates, regardless of ability to pay.
As a child develops over 18 years, facial structure changes and considerable plastic surgery, dental work and speech training is required. Although our professional care is donated, there are considerable expenses that must be met. You can help!
Please remember charity begins at home. All the money the Steel Magnolias (a totally volunteer organization) raises stays in Long Beach. We have been confused with another group with a similar program that advertises heavily. We are not affiliated with any other organization. The bulk of the other groups’ funds go to other countries. We know the need is great elsewhere also, but we need to care for our local children first. And, we provide care throughout the growing phase, not just the initial surgery. Please consider helping our children at the Stramski Center. Your donation can make a tremendous difference in a child’s life. Just click on the donation button and follow the instructions.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
