Donation with confidence
Steel Magnolias is a volunteer, charitable 501(c)(3) organization. We have no paid employees and do not own or rent any buildings; therefore we return a higher percentage of funds donated to the community than most non-profits. Through the years, we have contributed over four and a half million dollars ($4,500,000.) to the Stramski Children’s Developmental Center at Miller Children’s and Women’s Hospital Long Beach.
The Stramski Children’s Developmental Center cares for children, from birth to 21 years, who have behavioral and developmental conditions. There are seven programs within the center: Behavioral Neurodevelopmental programs (autism/ADHD), Fragile X Syndrome (Southern California’s only such program, with families coming from all over the southwest), Cranio-facial program (cleft lip/palate), High Risk Infant Followup Program, Sleep Disorders Center, Genetics Program and International Adoption Program.
Over 4,000 children and their families receive care from the Stramski Children’s Development Center every year. They come from all over Southern California.
